Maybe it has been obvious that government is going to raise the price of fuel. A hard decision taken by our government. What i know as the basic reason for this price raise is it really cost much to our national budget. Another thing i see is that the government want to minimize the oil smuggling. Well, actually there are many other speculations of why this policy is taken. One of the popular opinions is that the oppositions want to discredit the government as we are facing general election again soon.
Enough for the politic, let's just do what we can do for the worst (if the policy has been taken). I will try to help you who use your own vehicle for your daily activity by giving a nice and easy tips. It is "say no to engine brake".
Here it goes.
Gasoline, works by being changed from a liquid material to produce energy in the combustion chamber. And that energy is what we use to make our vehicle move. So, i am sure that you have made yourself clear now about how worthy your gasoline is. And it even goes worthier as it is going more expensive. The point is, use your gasoline wisely so that you wouldn't lose any unnecessary energy from it. Still confused? Let's go more practical.
When you need to reduce your vehicle speed, you can use two method. First, you can hit or pull your brake. Second, you can release your throttle. The post method exploits the engine rotation to slow down your vehicle. As your rpm (rotation per minute) goes lower, the engine force the wheel to harmonize its rotation speed. So we can say that it's the engine which do the brake (so it is called engine braking). This is the method not to take. Why? Because principally you don't need to burn any unnecessary gasoline to brake. You should remember that acceleration is the only business for our gasoline to do. If all riders and drivers can do this, imagine how many fuel we can save.
So, say no to engine brake ;)
